How scoring works
Every project on this leaderboard is scored from the support and reviews it earns from people outside its team during the hackathon.
Support
The more people who upvote or review your project, the higher it scores. Each person counts once, whether they upvote, review or both, and every extra supporter adds a little less than the one before.
Reviews
How well people rate your project also counts. A project needs several reviews before its rating counts at all. On a well-reviewed project the highest and lowest ratings are set aside, and a rating built on a few reviews stays closer to neutral than one built on many. A poor review never leaves a project scoring lower than it would with no reviews at all.
What never counts
Upvotes and reviews from the project creator or any confirmed teammate, reviews that were deleted or hidden by moderation, and activity from accounts that are no longer active, such as suspended ones.
When activity counts
Only during the hackathon, from its start until judging closes (or until the hackathon ends, if there is no judging period), no matter when the project was submitted. When that window closes the standings are final.
Ranks
Projects on the same score share a rank. A project with no counted activity yet is shown as Unranked, so submitting early is no advantage.
Fair play
The same rules apply to every project. Organizers can remove entries that break the hackathon rules, and the team is notified. Live leaderboards always use the current scoring rules. If the rules are updated, final standings are recalculated under the new rules and the board says so.
