Requests for Proposals are the Solana Foundation's directed funding track. Rather than waiting for teams to propose their own ideas, the Foundation publishes specific opportunities it has identified as priorities for the ecosystem and invites teams to apply to deliver them.
This sits alongside the open-ended grants program. The difference is who sets the scope: with a grant the applicant defines the project, with an RFP the Foundation does. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis through the Foundation's RFP form, and the same review cadence applies, with roughly a week for initial review and about three weeks to a decision.
The RFP track suits teams with delivery capacity looking for work that is already validated as ecosystem-critical, rather than teams pitching a novel idea. Individual RFPs carry their own scope and requirements; the Foundation does not publish a standing award ceiling for the track.
