What it funds
Projects that generate public goods for the Solana community, through three routes: milestone-based grants for public goods, convertible grants for public goods that have a commercial element, and RFPs for specific Foundation priorities.
What it does not fund
Projects that are primarily commercial in nature usually will not qualify for a standard grant. Those are directed to the convertible grant route instead.
Amounts
No tiers or ceilings are published. Grants are milestone-based, and you are expected to submit a well-structured budget with thoughtful milestones.
Who is eligible
Anyone: individuals, independent teams, governments, nonprofits, companies, universities and academics. Proposals are judged on whether they provide a public good (open-source contribution or a meaningful free offering to the community), show open-source spirit and community benefit, justify why Solana specifically enables the project, and show clear measurable use of funds against defined milestones.
How to apply
Through the application form, covering a project overview, how it provides a public good for Solana, and a structured budget with milestones.
Review timeline
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis: roughly one week to review, and about three weeks to a decision and contact. In-depth reviews trigger expert outreach and a due diligence call.
