What is Onchain?
Also called: on-chain
Onchain describes data or logic recorded on a blockchain, where it is publicly readable and independently verifiable. Offchain describes anything held in ordinary systems.
In practice
The distinction decides what can be trusted without asking permission. Onchain activity, deployed contracts, transaction history, and grant payments can be checked by anyone. Offchain claims such as a job title or a private repository need a different kind of evidence, which is why Dapping treats attestations and connected accounts as separate signals.
